Sony Televisions & Panasonic VCRs
Permanently installed televisions and videocassette recorders in classrooms, are Sony
27" Trinitron television/monitors and Panasonic VHS videocassette recorders.
The television is either suspended from the ceiling or mounted on a tall cart. If the TV
is mounted from the ceiling nearby will be a black cabinet secured to the wall. In this
cabinet is a VCR and the remote control to turn on the TV. Otherwise, the VCR is
mounted under the TV on the cart.
Most of the permanently installed VCRs are auto-tracking. If your tape plays static
and/or horizontal lines are present in the image the VCR, after a second or two, will
compensate and clear up the image. If it does not, stop the tape, eject and reinsert.
To operate the television/monitor, turn it on and adjust the volume. Equipment
Services has set up the televisions to play video from the VCRs on both channel 3 and the
video input of the TV. If a picture does not appear from the VCR after turning on the TV,
switch it to its video input by pressing the TV/VIDEO button on the front panel or on the
remote control. The word "video" will appear in the upper right hand corner of
the image. The VCR image will appear as well. If not, call Equipment
Services.
If the room assigned to your class does not have a television and videocassette
recorder, please call Equipment Services and order the equipment needed (621-3852). |
